Do you want to please God?

The Internet is a wonderful means of communication! It enables worldwide evangelism, reaching people who live on the other side of the world with the gospel and encouraging them in their walks of faith. Unfortunately, the Internet is also a “wonderful” means to sin!

Every day, millions of videos and images are put online, and they’re not all necessarily meant to glorify God. I’m talking about pornographic content of course, but also slander, violence, gossip, things that don’t feed your soul… that do quite the opposite, in fact!

David said, “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.” (Psalm 101:3) His desire was to please God with his whole heart. Yet, this same David let his gaze linger on another man’s wife and sinned against his God. After acknowledging his sin, he repented through this prayer: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10)

And you, my friend… is this also your resolution? To set nothing wicked before your eyes? Perhaps you lack determination sometimes…

I’d like to encourage you: it’s God’s desire that you be holy. He says in His Word in Leviticus 20:26, “‘And you shall be holy to Me, for I the Lord am holy, and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be Mine.’”

Would you like to ask God in Jesus’s name for a steadfast spirit, one determined to keep a pure gaze and thought life?

Let’s pray together… “My God, You see my desire to please You. You also see how often it’s difficult for me to keep my resolutions and promises. I ask You for more of Your life, more of Your Spirit right now. Transform me, change me, guide and direct my thoughts, purify me. May my whole life glorify You…my thoughts, my actions, and my words. In Jesus’s name I pray, amen!”
