Does God have a plan for your job?

The apostle Paul, a servant of the first church, had been formerly educated at the feet of Gamaliel, a rabbinic teacher who had instructed him according to the rigor of the Law. (See the Bible, Acts 22:3)

But though he was trained and educated by one of the best teachers of his time, Paul had also learned the career of tentmaking!

In fact, according to rabbinical practice of the time, it was recommended that scholars learn a trade. The epistles tell us that Paul was quite happy he could earn his bread without having to rely on someone else. God had given Paul this job so that he could serve Him everywhere!

Why am I sharing this with you? If a door of professional opportunity closes, don’t be discouraged because God will open another! He is the One who provides and qualifies. Despite the circumstances and opposition, don’t be discouraged. God has something for you that will be useful to you and will allow you to honor Him. Believe in faith…God is going to open a door!
