Even Jesus felt far away from God for a time…

This morning, I would like to encourage you with this… God understands you.• When you doubt, God understands your doubts.
• When you fear, God understands your fears.
• When you suffer, God understands your suffering.
• When you don’t understand, God understands your inability to understand.
• When you are no longer sure of God’s presence with you, God understands that, too.

He understands you because He Himself experienced all these feelings. In fact, during His time on earth, Jesus truly became human. As such, He endured everything that a man could endure: doubt, fears, suffering, inability to understand.

These feelings were so intense inside of Him that He could only cry out on the cross, at the end of Himself, “‘My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?’” (The Bible, Mark 15:34)

Even Jesus felt far away from the presence of God for a time.

This is why He can perfectly understand what you’re feeling…why He can understand YOU.

But because He conquered all this doubt, fear, and suffering, even death itself, we have this sweet assurance…He still can deliver us today from our doubts, fears, and suffering!

As this song by Hillsong United says, “You were as I, tempted and tried, human, the word became flesh, bore my sin and death, now You’re risen!” 

I’d like to encourage you to feel and know, in this moment in His presence, just how much He understands you and just how much power He has to intervene in your situation.
