God is not willing that they should perish!

Imagine with me for a moment…What would you do if you had just given your life to Christ, and one of your loved ones was intent on disproving the very foundations of your newfound faith?

In the movie “The Case for Christ,” based on the best-selling novel by the same name, this very thing happens to Leslie Strobel. Her husband Lee is a journalist, a truth seeker, and a self-proclaimed atheist. Angered by her new faith in Jesus, he sets out on a journey to prove to her and the world that Christianity is a hoax.

It is difficult when our loved ones ridicule us for our faith in God. Yet perhaps even more difficult is knowing that their hearts are set against God. It can break our hearts…

Do you relate, my friend? Perhaps you have a son or daughter who believes only in “science and reason”; an uncle who is convinced that all paths lead to God; or a spouse, father, or close friend who seems to tolerate all religions…but yours.

If this is you, my friend, I’d like to encourage you…the Lord has heard your tears and supplications, and He is not finished with your loved one yet!

The Bible says, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

Even more than you, friend, the Lord cries over your loved one. He is simply not willing that he/she would perish. So you can rest assured…He will fight to the end for his/her soul!

Pray with me today for your unsaved loved one(s)…“Lord, thank You for hearing my prayers and supplications…Holy Spirit, I ask You to draw my loved one(s) who do not know You [say their name(s)] to Yourself…According to Your Word, I know that You desire all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) I trust You to draw them into a real, personal relationship with You. I believe and thank You, Lord Jesus, for saving the ones You and I both love so much. In Your name, amen.”

I’d like to extend a special invitation to rent or buy this excellent film, “The Case for Christ.” It’s offered to you by Christian Cinema. With this partnership with them we hope to engage more people with the Word of God and help them to grow in their faith.
