God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able!

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
According to research done by my friend Bobby, the creator of the incredible YouVersion application (already downloaded over 250 million times), 1 Corinthians 10:13 is Chinese Christians’ favorite Bible verse. In China, like in too many places, there’s still discrimination and persecution against Christians. When I was in South Africa in 2010 for the global congress of the Lausanne Movement, I remember that the only delegation that was missing was the Chinese delegation. They had all been forbidden from participating! So sad…

We can see why this is Chinese Christians’ favorite verse…it is not easy to be a Christian in China. Maybe it’s not easy for you to be a Christian some days either. The difficulty may come from a person who does not like your faith or it may come from temptations that you experience that are connected to things in your past.

However, there is a promise in this verse and here it is: God is faithful! He will not allow you to be tempted or tested beyond what you are able. He has already prepared the way of escape. He is going to get you out of it! Believe it and hold fast to this promise.

Declare with me: “Lord, I believe! You will not let me be tempted beyond what I am able. Your Word is true and I won’t let go of Your promises, no matter what comes my way. I declare it…I trust You in all things! In Jesus’s name, amen.”

God won’t allow you to be tempted or tested beyond what you are able!
