How do we abide in Christ?

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight [pleasure] is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.” (The Bible, Psalm 1:1-3)
Today, we’re going to continue our study of Psalm 1. I hope that your life is enriched and that you’re seeing change happening inside of you!

I love fruits. They are one of God’s most magnificent creations. Certain fruits are excellent for your health and their taste can be exquisite.

Psalm 1 compares us to a tree that brings forth its fruit in its season.

Christ Himself said: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit…” (The Bible, John 15:5)

How can we abide in Jesus Christ?

• By turning our thoughts toward Him.
• By asking for His guidance.
• By listening to His voice.
• By reading His words.
• By putting His teachings into practice.
• By acting like Him.
• By loving like He does…loving the Father and also those around you.
• By letting the Holy Spirit fill you.
• By asking yourself the question: what would Jesus do in my place?

When you abide in Jesus Christ and Jesus abides in you, He promises that you will bear much fruit.
