Time to get up!

“Just 5 minutes more, Mom….Just 2 minutes, Dad. I’ll get up…I’m just so sleepy…”

Drawn by the warmth of the comforter, your child sweetly makes you understand that he/she has no intentions of getting up right away. Are you familiar with this situation as a (grownup) child or a parent?

How many times, when your Heavenly Father calls you to get up, do you answer, “wait just a little longer, a few days, a few weeks…not right now”? Yet, obedience is of utmost value and importance to the Lord, as the Word of God tells us…

“‘Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams.’” (the Bible, 1 Samuel 15:22)

If this is your case, if God has given you a personal wake-up call, it will certainly be accompanied by giving up your comfort, your little habits. But I encourage you to obey today and all throughout this week. Not out of fear or constraint, but out of love for God!

Are you seeking His will? It’s impossible to fulfill it without first obeying Him.

Pray with me… “Lord, I’m taking a leap of faith. In the past, I’ve waited before answering Your call. But now, I choose to go forward by faith, knowing that You will be with me every day! Thank You, Lord, for Your help and empowerment. In Your name, amen.”
