Can forgiveness free you?

I receive a lot of emails and paper letters asking me questions. While I’m not able to answer each one individually, my amazing team does, and I’m so grateful to them. Why share this with you today? Because it’s on my heart to answer some of these questions I’ve been asked. :-)

Many people have told me that forgiveness is one of the greatest, or in fact the greatest, difficulty or frustration they face in their lives as Christians. They’ve shared that they have trouble forgiving others or themselves…

Is this the case for you perhaps? Or for someone you know?

Forgiveness is a divine act. I truly believe it. God is the creator of forgiveness. It’s interesting to note that in the word “forgiveness” are the words “give…for.”

It makes me think of the well-known verse, John 3:16: “‘For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.’” (the Bible, NLT)

It’s by Jesus’ death that we’re forgiven. Because His blood was shed for us (read Hebrews 9:22-28). God gave so that you’d be forgiven of your sins. He sacrificed His Son. To forgive is also this: to give, to surrender, to let go, and sometimes to sacrifice.

It’s not easy, and it has a price. But forgiving someone or yourself is a mighty action that releases freedom. The burden of resentment is lifted when you forgive.

Would you like to pray with me?…“Father, thank You for giving Jesus. Thank You that this gift of love allows us to experience true forgiveness. Today, help me to forgive, truly forgive. To release, let go, surrender, and abandon all resentment and animosity. May my heart be free and light. Thank You for Your peace enveloping me right now. In Jesus’ name, amen!”

Forgiveness is the hardest thing for me but I know when you forgive it’s a release for my heart and mind. This is a perfect example of Gods love. When I first started with a miracle every day that was what I was going through at the time. Forgiveness and letting go. It was very hard for me because I wanted to lash out but listening to a miracle every day help in my road to forgiveness. Thank you

Forgiveness is not a emotion or “sentiment” but a decision!
An incredible one! It’s not easy, but with God’s hold-handed it’s possible to forgive some one to hurt us!
Thanks to “A miracle every day” for sharing!

Forgiveness is a huge word, but when disected, it sure speaks to giving someone something for whatever was done to you. To forgive is divine and God sees and knows the heart of man. When we say we forgive, we have to say “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. God forgives us when we ask for it, so we need to forgive also. It is painful when someone betrays or hurts you, but when you call on God, he is there to walk along your side with you and you feel comfort and protection.

Today’s Miracle a Day is powerful and thanks to the team.
