Do you sometimes feel too guilty to pray?

God’s love is greater and stronger than your mistakes, my friend. Yet, sometimes you may think, “I’ve made this mistake too many times,” “God has given up on me this time,” or “I can’t go before His holy presence like this.”

Do not accept these lies from the enemy. God is not rejecting you—quite the opposite!

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” (the Bible, James 4:8, NKJV)

Go before Him in prayer and share your worries, pain, and regrets with Him…If you take the step to seek His forgiveness, His presence, He will draw near to you. He will let Himself be found by you. (see Jeremiah 29:13

God loves you, and it’s not His will for you to be crushed by the weight of sin. You are not the sins you have committed. Draw near to Him with humility and receive His loving mercy and grace!

Pray with me…“Lord, every time I make a mistake, help me to immediately draw near to You rather than run away in shame and regret. Your Word promises that if I draw near to You, You’ll draw near to me too. Thank You for Your Word that supersedes the lies of guilt. Thank You for Your beautiful forgiveness and mercy. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

This was just in time. I was feeling unfit to serve in children’s ministry because I’m not without sin. I’m not the perfect husband or perfect dad. I know now that these are the lies of the enemy. Ministry is the opportunity to be redeemed and what brings me into the presence of the Spirit. I can repent and be useful to the Lord.
