Even in the desert, God is there!

The Word of God tells us about the surprising journey of the people of Israel who should’ve crossed the desert in eleven days (read Deuteronomy 1:2, NLT). But they wandered there for 40 years…It was in the fortieth year that God declared, “‘You have stayed at this mountain long enough.’” (Deuteronomy 1:6)

Then, He refreshed their memories with the same promise: “‘Look, I am giving all this land to you! Go in and occupy it, for it is the land the Lord swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to all their descendants.’” (Deuteronomy 1:8)

If you’re going through some kind of desert (sickness, divorce, unemployment, debt, singleness, depression, etc.), it can be discouraging…to the point where you believe God has forgotten you. You may even doubt His love, His presence, and believe that He has distanced Himself from you. However, not “feeling” God isn’t a sign of His absence. God was, is, and will always be there. 

I’d like to encourage you today:

• God wants to rekindle your vision and His promise, right here in this desert.
• He has words of life and victory in store for you!
• The Lord will surprise you again with His faithfulness and goodness.

Hold on! You’re on your way to the promised land. I invite you to listen to the song “Desert Song” by Hillsong Worship and declare these words: 

“This is my prayer in the desert

When all that’s within me feels dry

This is my prayer in my hunger and need

My God is the God who provides

And I will bring praise

I will bring praise

No weapon formed against me shall remain

I will rejoice

I will declare

God is my victory and He is here”
