God wanted you

Yesterday, we celebrated a birth, the birth of Jesus Christ! Yes, “for unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given.” (The Bible, Isaiah 9:6)
Even if Jesus (or you) weren’t born on December 25th, what does it matter? His coming (no matter what the exact date was) is an extraordinary display of God’s love. And you are as well—you are living proof of the greatness of God!

I came into this world by what I call a “divine accident.” My parents were less than 20 years old and were not expecting to have a child. I wasn’t wanted.

But, in retrospect, there’s one thing I’m sure of—God wanted me!

It’s crucial for us to understand that none of us are an accident. We are all desired and loved!

I invite you to pray this with me, a prayer directly from the Bible…

“I thank You, High God—You’re breathtaking! Body and soul, I am marvelously made! I worship in adoration—what a creation! You know me inside and out, You know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, You watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before You, the days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.” (Psalm 139:14-16, The Message)

You are not an accident. You are not a mistake. On the contrary, you are living proof of His creativity and love. I thank God for creating you, and thank you for being alive!
