You can only give what you are full of.
A few weeks ago, I borrowed my friend’s pick-up truck. I was heading to a cabin in the mountains to replace a couch for a small business we started. It was a great trip, but on the way back to Las Vegas, I ran out of gas. I was stuck on the highway for over two hours, waiting for help. It was so frustrating. I missed important appointments because I failed to fill up the tank. I failed to notice the small light on the dashboard. I missed the signal that I was running out of gas.
Have you ever missed life signals you were running out of spiritual, emotional, financial or relational strength?
Many years ago, I burned out. I was this young graduate student, starting two counseling centers and working on my day off. I’ll never forget being obsessed about stuff. I couldn’t sleep and I couldn’t get out of bed. I had neglected four simple principles of life.
- You can not give what you don’t have.
- It is my responsibility to fill up my tank.
- The Sabbath is a divine principle. God rested and so should I.
- I need to exercise several times a week.
The apostle Peter revealed this principle: “I have no silver or gold, but what I do have I give…” (See Acts 3:6, NET)
I’ve realized through the past 35 years of helping people and training leaders, that I can easily get depleted, empty, tired and distracted. I needed to develop a place and plan to refill my tank every week. Have you ever felt this way? Do you have a refilling place and plan?
If you don’t have a plan to fill your tank weekly, you are planning your emptiness.
Be full…be inspired…rest, then pour out into others.
You’re a miracle!

Thank you, Paul Marc, for sharing this today!
Thank You to the Lord, I feel this message is a confirmation of what came upon my heart last week, that I should on purpose keep one day for rest (apart from Sunday) totally dedicated to sitting with the Lord and resting in Him. Also, I had planned to seek the Lord at the start of the week to enquire how He intends me to spend my week etc. Getting a confirmation like this is great!
Thank you, Paul. This message is significant in my journey with the Lord.
God bless you all!!
Good day Paul, Eric and team.
I agree Every one needs a day beside Sunday for Rest and to be refreshed. Thank you Paul
