Have you ever felt like you were drowning in a crowd? Like you were transparent or invisible, wondering if you mattered to anyone? Perhaps you’re saying to yourself, “I’m just a number,” “I’m just one part of the mass,” “Nobody sees me, not even God”…
Don’t be mistaken! These are lies the devil uses to make you doubt God’s love.
I’d like to remind you of this marvelous Bible verse: “…I have also called you by your name; I have given you an honorable name though you have not known Me.” (Read Isaiah 45:4, AMP)
In fact, not only do you matter to God, but He knows you by name and doesn’t take His eyes off you. He knows everything about you!
- He observes all your actions and deeds. (Read Psalm 33:13-15, NLT)
- He knows the number of hairs on your head. (Read Matthew 10:30)
- He even knows your words before you speak them! (Read Psalm 139:4)
- He discerns your needs, even before you make them known. (Read Matthew 6:8)
- He watches when you get up and when you lie down. (Read Psalm 139:2)
You are not a nobody or a number, God loves you the same way He knows you; in other words, personally and intimately…just like this song by Tauren Wells celebrates. Day and night, God watches over you with care. Imagine: His loving eyes are focused on you…with the best zoom that exists in the world! Unrivalled in comparison to even the most powerful cameras on the market!
Would you like to thank Him with me now? “My Lord, thank You for illuminating my heart today about the reach, the power, of Your love. I want to remember every day that You died for me on the cross and that You know everything about me! What reassurance and comfort this gives me. Lord, I trust in You. I bless You, Father. I was thinking how God knows people individually, it amazes me how he can know each one individually and keep track if each one’s life. It encourages me how individuals played an important role in history… When God made Adam, just one man and God had a relationship with Him, how He used Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Judah, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Daniel…many more, to New Testament..God knew them all personally and had a purpose from their lives.
We should never think that we don’t matter, we mattered enough to God to create. May be we should start asking God to live out for Him and for the purpose He created us for.
