Make a bold choice

AMED 62.17

I’m praying that you’ve already started to make bold and audacious decisions in 2022. Don’t forget you’ll keep getting the same results if you keep doing the same things. I want superior results in 2022. What about you?

Let’s be honest—2020 and 2021 were very challenging years for many of us—but some people thrived. They seem to have adapted to the trials. They made changes in their stock portfolios, relationships, and careers. Some took steps to improve their overall health while others shrunk in fear and isolation.

Are your relationships, career, and life built on the Rock? The Bible says, “‘Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.’” (Matthew 7:24-27, NIV)

The Rock is Jesus Christ, the King of Kings, and His Word. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12, NIV)

Would you make a wise and bold decision with me this year? Will you choose to build your life, finances, and career on the Rock and His Word? Yes? Then I’d like you to try a few practical steps to help you move forward with your bold decision:

  1. Put Jesus firmly in charge of your life.
  2. Read His Word every day, pray, worship, and be filled with His Spirit.
  3. Add value to every person you meet. Be kind, polite, and gracious.
  4. Honor God and others with all of your heart.
  5. Forgive others and yourself. Let go of the past because you need both hands and a clean heart to take hold of your future.

Bold decisions are hard. They require you to follow up. I recently tried to play the game of golf. I hadn’t played much for almost five years, so the word “try” is very accurate. At first, I was terrible. It was embarrassing until a lieutenant colonel in the Air Force gave me one helpful tip: “Paul Marc, you have to watch your follow through.”

The Bible commands us, “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” (James 1:22, NKJV) Will you make a bold decision this year to build your life on the Rock in practical ways? Because you are a miracle, and I love you.

    Piece of cake.
    This is who I am.

“Let go of the past because you need both hands and a clean heart to take hold of your future.”

This last one is a bit tricky.
Kinda like picking a dog up by the ears.
    Easy to let go…
but not recommended. (I’ve tried that.)
I choose to keep a good grip on my past, and for the exact same reason.

    You’ve sown the wind…

*You’d be amazed at how hard and close your past will stick, no matter how hard you may try or want to let go.
Let’s just say, you really won’t ever need a colonoscopy. So, there is some merit, I guess.
