Powerful…through His Word

When God speaks, it’s not for nothing or without effect. This is what we’re told in the book of the prophet Isaiah:

“It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (the Bible, Isaiah 55:11, NLT)

Imagine…at the sound of His voice, the universe was created! Just like this song by Hillsong Worship celebrates.

There is nothing more powerful than the Word of God! Because the Word was with God before the beginning, and it was God, John tells us. (see John 1:1) When God speaks, it is heard, it is seen, because He does everything He says:

• His Word is the creator of life and blessings. (see Deuteronomy 28:2 and 28:15) 
• Every word He pronounces is certain. What He says, He does, without failing in anything.
• Everything that God says is the truth. He is not a man that He should lie. (see Numbers 23:19)

God has given you His Word, which is alive and powerful. It is more effective and sharper than a two-edged sword, Hebrews 4:12 tells us.  For it to be efficient, God invites you to meditate on it, to seal it upon your heart. Use the “it is written,” letting the Holy Spirit guide you.

Yes, when you’re in a precarious position or you’re going through a difficult situation, wield the Word of God – it is mighty. It is not a carnal weapon; it’s divinely powerful. (see 2 Corinthians 10:4) 

I invite you to pray with me…“Almighty God, thank You for Your Word that’s living and sharper than a two-edged sword. Thank You for reminding me today that it’s my privilege to use it at any time! Thank You for imparting faith and power through it. In Jesus’s name, amen.”
