“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (see the Bible, Joshua 1:9)
“Be strong” comes from the Hebrew word “chazaq,” which means to be or grow firm or strong, strengthen, take hold, prevail, be courageous. In this word, there’s this idea of firmly taking hold of the strength that God offers us.
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. (…) But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (see Isaiah 40:28 and 31)
The Lord’s strength is much different from man’s strength: it doesn’t get drained, it isn’t limited, and it makes all things possible. It’s this strength that He desires to give you…!
Once you’ve received His strength, mount up with wings like eagles: go for it, work diligently, do what you know you’re called to do. You have every capability in Christ.
I invite you to pray with me…“Lord, thank You for Your strength that I receive by faith right now. In You, I am strong, powerful, empowered! Yes, with You, I’m going to run and not be weary. My strength is renewed because You’re walking with me. I will not faint along the path but be renewed by You, Lord, who hold my life in Your hands! In Your name, amen.”

Hi Eric, I try to be strong in Christ daily , by practicing His Prescence daily in my life. I share praises and my daily chores etc with Him and ask for his strength in my legs and body to continue daily. Just wanted to share this thought with you. I read a book about Brother Lawrence. He did this and it was a impetus for me. Your article reaffirmed it. Strength in the Lord. Thanks for your devotion to Christ. Kathy
