The most extraordinary gift: Jesus! ?

Christmas is here…the ultimate season of wonder! Leading up to this day, a festive atmosphere has filled the streets for weeks now with brightly lit decorations, sparkling fir trees, and beautifully displayed shop windows. Soon we’ll be joining those we love and sharing good meals with family (if we have the joy of having one). And if you don’t, if you’re spending this time alone, I am with you with my whole heart.
Truly, this time goes by so quickly…When we think about it, more than 2,000 years ago, humanity received a gift from heaven: Jesus. Given so that all men could be filled with wonder every day of the year!
Today, I’d like to reawaken wonder inside of you, through the person of Jesus.
The Savior of the world didn’t descend from heaven in a triumphant and glorious procession, surrounded by a cloud of angels and escorted by an army of celestial warriors.
No…He came quietly, in total humility, during the Bethlehem census. That night, there was no room: Jesus was born in a stable because the inn was jam packed, as the Gospel of Luke tells us:
“‘The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.’” (the Bible, Luke 2:11-12, NLT)
Jesus, from His first days on Earth, teaches us humility…by choosing the most vulnerable form: that of a swaddled baby, entirely dependent on His parents, inspiring the wonder of shepherds. The Savior was born!
Imagine Jesus, a baby, learning how to eat, discovering how to walk, teething? I admit that I sometimes have trouble “imagining” God incarnate as a little baby in His early years, learning about life. Don’t you?
I invite you today to remember the incredible humility Jesus demonstrated when He came to save us…you, me, and the whole world.
Would you like to worship Him with me?…“Lord, I praise You for being willing to come down from Your majestic heavenly throne to take on a form like mine. When You humbled Yourself this way, You came close and revealed to me the Father’s love and grace. I want to give You all the honor and glory You deserve! Amen.”
Let’s praise Him together with this beautiful video, “Mary, Did You Know?”, remaining in the spirit of worship unto the Savior of the world.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
