Think about heaven…

AMED 29.14

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | Think about heaven…

We have only a vague idea of the magnificence and beauty of God as they really are. We can use our imagination, but everything we could ever imagine will remain far from what heavenly reality really is. However, the Lord allows us to glimpse it through His Word. In fact, the Bible uses images that we understand to illustrate what we can’t conceive.

We find many descriptions of God’s beauty and glory in the Bible. For example, in Revelation 4:3, we read, “The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow.” I believe that these illustrations are intended to spark our imagination and increase our faith:

Have you ever thought about heaven? About the day when you’ll live forever in “the house of the Lord”? King David, who composed magnificent poems for the glory of God, longed for his Creator; he couldn’t wait to see Him face to face. He wrote,

“The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” (see Psalm 27:4)

One day, you’ll be able to fully contemplate His beauty. You will live forever in the presence of your Heavenly Father!

I invite you to turn to your Lord and pray…“Lord, Your beauty and magnificence are beyond my understanding. Teach me to contemplate You, to feel Your infinite love for me. To be dazzled by Your perfection so that my desires will no longer be for the things of Earth but for the realities of heaven. In Jesus’s name, amen!”

Have a beautiful day in God’s presence!
