What are you seeking first?

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | What are you seeking first?

Are you familiar with this Bible verse? It’s one of the most revolutionary verses there are…

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

The question is… why is this so revolutionary?

Because it stands in stark opposition to everything we hear around us, day after day, like, “The most important thing is making money,” or what we sometimes say to ourselves in our heart of hearts: “I really need to have enough to pay the rent… I need more money to pay for clothes for my family and me,” etc.

So, our first worry is no longer the Kingdom of God but figuring out how we’re going to keep living…When Jesus says to not worry about our lives, He’s lovingly reminding us that our Heavenly Father is taking care of it and that our portion is to stay closely knit to Him.

Seeking the Kingdom is making your relationship with God the priority.

And by faith, let’s believe, you and I, that all the rest will flow from that place.

Don’t be afraid of being revolutionary or thinking differently! Your priority, your first concern, is not so much how you’ll live from one day to another, but should rather be your relationship with God… and more specifically, making sure that it’s as alive and deep as it was at the beginning! The rest will follow, as the Word says…

“…And all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Let’s proclaim and sing the words of this beautiful song, “Jesus at the Center,” by Darlene Zschech.

I invite you to pray with me… Father, thank You for reminding me that seeking Your Kingdom first is what is the most important. I choose to put Your Kingdom first… First in my days, first in my relationships, first in my finances. And I believe, because You declared it to be so, that all these things shall be added to me! In Jesus’s name, amen.”

I indeed love this scripture at Mathew 6:33 This is a cross reference with Luke 12:31 so we should never be anxious about anything. Turn to God for all our needs
