When God gives, He gives! ?

There’s a popular expression in French that says, “Giving is giving, taking back is stealing.”

What God gives you, He truly gives you. God is a loyal person. He doesn’t go back on His Word…He performs it. (see the Bible, Jeremiah 1:12) Thus, when He gives something, He doesn’t take it back. That would be going back on His Word. Certain translations specify that He watches over His Word to execute it…even that He actively hastens to accomplish it! Yes, God keeps His word…

Also, when God said that He would bring a new covenant for humanity’s salvation, He genuinely accomplished it, to the point of paying full price: His beloved Son’s life. He gave Jesus completely, without “taking back” His Son. Yet, it was His only Son. When God gives, He really gives.

So, when Jesus says that He gives you His peace, He gives it to you perfectly:

““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”” (see the Bible, John 14:27, NLT) 

He doesn’t give as the world “gives”…that is to say, with conditions (often written in fine print…) that sometimes aren’t respected (and so we become disappointed…).

When God speaks, He wholly accomplishes His Word. You can fully rely on your God. He is faithful, and His Word is honest and upright.

Now, confide in Him! What God says, He does. What God gives, He gives.
