Will you confide in someone you trust?

We’re still considering the question, “How do I make the right decision?” For several days, I was questioning whether I should accept a lucrative job I was offered…Let’s continue to look together today at the steps that are important for us to walk in what God has for us.

In truth, everything was developing very positively, and it did look like I was going to take the job! It would open big, new doors as well as give me financial stability. But my heart just couldn’t find peace.

The world often tells us, “You’re not accountable to anyone. Do as you please. Do what’s good for you!” The Bible tells us otherwise. “‘But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.'” (Matthew 12:36, NKJV) We are definitely held accountable. That’s why it’s so helpful here on Earth to have people to confide in so we can get the best help!

I went to my parents and told them about the job offer in detail. I knew they’d point out negative points I hadn’t even considered, though that’s definitely not what I wanted to hear at the moment. After all, that could mean having to turn down the offer!

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? ‘I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.'” (Jeremiah 17:9-10, NIV)

Yikes, that sounds intense, don’t you think? The human heart is incurably sick, so please don’t act according to your feelings. Instead, act according to your spirit! Your heart will always tell you, “Try it and see.” Your spirit, however, will tell you, “Talk to someone who will open your eyes to God’s will about it when you can’t do it yourself.”

A day later, my father called to tell me he had unexpectedly heard words from the Lord with such clarity as he seldom had: “Beware! The danger is very subtle (barely perceptible), and that’s why you can’t put your finger on it.”

Now that was REALLY not what I wanted to hear! Something like this can happen when you confide in someone. If it did, would you then be willing to listen and take the warning seriously? “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.” (Proverbs 19:20, NIV)

When you’re considering big decisions, will you be willing to be completely honest with someone you trust and then take his/her advice seriously? I can only urge you to do so!

You are a miracle!

Timely like all the others have been in this season of my life !! We can’t do it without the Holy Spirit. He speaks , nudges us and great advice from a confidant is worth listening to, especially when we not hearing clearly.
