Yes, it hurts at first

Today is the last day of this week’s series about decisions, and I’ve shared a lot with you about my personal experience with a hard decision I had to make. It was a turning point for me, a big one in fact, because I actually thought I was finally bringing financial stability into my life through this new job…but now it was gone. So how do you deal with that? That’s what I’d like to talk with you about today to encourage you. :-)

God was and still is your provider. Let’s say that right up front! God chose you before you chose Him and because He’s faithful, He will reward you for your godly decisions with His love; His power; and last but not least, His provision:

“…'”You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”‘” (Isaiah 41:9-10, NKJV)

This familiar verse has everything you need:

  1. “Fear not.” God doesn’t want you to worry about your future.
  2. “I will strengthen you.” You don’t have to hope for your own strength…strength comes from Him!
  3. “I will help you.” “My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:2, NKJV) He can give you EVERYTHING—finances, health…ALL that you need.
  4. “I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” If you submit your life to Jesus, you are assured of victory. Wow!

Yes, I, too, had my doubts at first because everything seemed perfect. Through this new job, I could’ve easily paid the rent for my dream house, which I was supposed to decide on at that very moment. Turning down the job made that dream look impossible. But it was impossible only through my limited, human perspective, so I continued to lean on God’s shoulder.

“‘I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.'” (Isaiah 42:8, NKJV)

God wants to take care of you, He wants to make you strong, He wants to help you, and He wants to protect you. He wants to bless you and give you what you need financially. He wants to give you the love you long for. He has so much good planned for you.

Do you want this, too? Do you want to include Him in all your life decisions and experience how many blessings, protection, and security are to be found in Him? Even if it hurts sometimes at first? I encourage you to do so…a life of trusting Him is the most beautiful, abundant life!

You are a miracle!
