Watch out, friend! After tired comes... danger!

Publication date Oct 10, 2023

We wouldn't have to talk about “how you can be happy” this week if it were that easy, would we, friend? Because if it were that easy, we would just let it happen! But it's not easy, and that's why we're diving a little deeper into the background of joy today.

I came back dog-tired from a really strong performance and just wanted to go to bed. It was simply overwhelming, what I was able to experience there and I wanted to celebrate that! But I was so tired from all the effort. And when I'm tired—I know that well by now—then it becomes dangerous.

Because the devil wakes up when you get tired!

Because after your work for God, the work of the devil often begins against you.

This may sound dramatic for you at first, friend, but I have had so many experiences with this, that I absolutely have to give you this warning today!

Maybe you are in the middle of such a fight! And we know that this usually begins with the thoughts: You are not good enough. If people knew what you are really like..., etc.  (see Proverbs 4:23 NIV)

And maybe, even right after you've done something "good" for God, you've really failed. Sinned. But friend, that doesn't change the fact that God's grace is still with you:

"God’s grace has saved you because of your faith in Christ. Your salvation doesn’t come from anything you do. It is God’s gift. It is not based on anything you have done. No one can brag about earning it." (Ephesians 2:8-9 NiRV).

So friend, if the devil wants to get you down today, especially because you're tired right now, tired of everything that's going on, be awake enough to realize that God is still for you, that God still loves you just as much as He did yesterday (see Hebrews 13:8 NiRV), and He wants you to stay happy today, because:

"But God loves us deeply. He is full of mercy." (Ephesians 2:4 NiRV)

The devil wakes up when you get tired. But your God never sleeps! (see Psalm 121:4 NIV)

...and THEREFORE you may be so very happy today!

You are a miracle!
