Do you need a miracle to believe?

What will it take for you to believe in Jesus? What kind of miracle would you need? Jesus performs one of greatest miracles and still people don’t want to believe in him.

What will it take for you to believe in Jesus? What kind of miracle would you need? Once I was watching a program in which they asked people what should happen for them to believe in Jesus? One person said: “When this lamppost will fall down!” The lamppost fell down but he still wouldn’t believe. In fact, he did not want to believe.

In this story Jesus performs his biggest miracle yet. Jesus keeps pushing our boundaries of our faith. In detail this story reveals how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. He waited four days. Four days! The body was already decomposing.

Lazarus was alive again! This report reached the leader of Israel. And they were not happy. They didn’t argue the facts. But they did fear the results of this miracle. Everyone was talking about it. The leaders refused to see the miracle as an act of God. They neglected the foretold message that the Messiah would come. They wanted to stop Jesus because in their world he was creating chaos.

The most important leader made a prophecy: “Don’t you realize that it is better for you to let one man die for the people, instead of having the whole nation destroyed?” Without knowing he did a prophecy that showed the real purpose of Jesus’ coming to earth: To rescue us all. Do you believe that this was Jesus’ real purpose?
