Has someone ever offended your mother or father? People think that if you’re a Christian you can’t get mad. But when someone offended God, Jesus was outraged!
Has this ever happened to you? Have schoolmates ever said negative things about one of your parents? Do you remember someone saying something that hurts the image of your father or mother? I can remember some guys at school saying bad things about my mother. It made me furious. I was very angry with them.

Jesus is coming into the house of his father, the temple. And he sees that it is not a place of prayer, but a marketplace. He is furious. It hurts his father. And he stands up for his father.
What Jesus shows in this story is that he was angry because the people ruined God’s idea about the temple. So you can be angry as a Christian, when you have a sort of holy discontentment.
