Ah, those silent doubts....
You know what I noticed recently when I was praying, friend? I ask God for something, but deep inside I doubt if God wants to hear me, because I don't deserve to be heard by Him.
If you are honest with yourself, you will also fight again and again with such doubts deep inside. Do you know HOW DANGEROUS such doubts are?
You doubt whether God really wants to hear you, whether you are "good enough" for Him, but He has long ago made it clear that He loves you enough to forgive all your sins. He wants to move forward with you; He wants to be ten steps further on with you. He wants to tinker with your—and His—dream for your life.
Doubts always cost you valuable time. Remember what it says in John 10:10? "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…" (John 10:10 NIV).
That's exactly what the evil one accomplishes when your doubts about whether God really hears you cause you to stop and not continue working on your—His—dream.
Don't let your doubts take away what God wants to give you!
Gideon was also a doubter. God had even told him His dream! He wanted to liberate Israel through him. And though God even told him, "...I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive." (Judges 6:16 NIV), Gideon replied, in essence, "I don't deserve to be heard." The biblical quote is: “If you are truly going to help me, show me a sign to prove that it is really the Lord speaking to me.” (Judges 6:17 NLT)
Really now? God had sent one of His angels to tell Gideon His message in person, yet the man didn’t believe God really wanted to talk to him.
God wants to give you the faith your doubts try to steal!
What will you decide today, friend, when you know God has put something on your heart, but at the same time doubt if He really meant it now and if you are really "good enough" for Him?
Make the right decision—to believe and obey—because your dream is important!
You are a miracle!
