Are you afraid of death?

Publication date Jun 2, 2024

Today, we're delving into a very important topic. And perhaps you'll take the time not just to casually listen to this thought, but grab your Bible and read the many verses I mention for yourself. Because personally, I find this thought very liberating.

"I won't die anytime soon! I have my body under control and am so disciplined. I want and will grow old and stay fit!"

"So, so," I thought, as this businessman confidently spoke about his own life. And after a brief pause, he continued, "Even if a body part is no longer functional, I can use my money to get a new arm made with a 3D printer, for example."

All I heard from this conversation was: "I". friend, whoever counts on themselves misses the miracle that happens when you count on God.

And do you know what the miracle is in this case? God wanted us to die someday. Have you ever thought about that? From the beginning, He wanted your life on earth to end.

"Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." (Psalm 139:16 NIV

From the beginning, He set an end to your life on Earth because He wanted to have you with Him in eternity. That's why you don't live "for yourself," as this businessman unfortunately believes. It says: “God has made everything. He is now bringing his many sons and daughters to share in his glory. It is only right that Jesus is the one to lead them into their salvation. That’s because God made him perfect by his sufferings.” (Hebrews 2:10 NiRV)

I find this verse so powerful. When we become aware of this, friend, we live differently, decide differently, and love differently.

But to fulfill this plan, it was necessary to make the pioneer of their salvation—Jesus—perfect through suffering and death. Since all these children (you, friend) are creatures of flesh and blood, Jesus Himself became flesh and blood to free us from the fear of death by His death and resurrection! (from Hebrews 2:10-15 NLT)

friend, thanks to Jesus' death for you, death no longer signifies the end. Death is just the exit from earthly life and the entrance into God’s wonderful eternity. And there, the following will happen:

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4 ESV

Do you really want to fear death when you have nothing to fear in eternity? Let this thought sink in peacefully today, because this truth has the power to take away your fear!

You are a miracle!
