Can you be healed of trauma?

Let’s face the facts—most of us have suffered trauma in our lives. The Bible tells us, “‘…He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.’” (Matthew 5:45, NKJV)

As much as you might ask, “Why God?”, the answer will always come out the same: “Why not?” Even though we are Christians who love God, we will have tribulations and losses. There is a constant battle for our souls, families, and divine destinies. Satan has three objectives for your life: he wants to steal, kill, and destroy. He wants to steal your joy, blessings, and peace of mind.

Jesus promises, “‘I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.’” (John 10:10, NKJV)

Do you feel the battle for your soul? What are you going to do differently in 2021?

A friend once told me, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing but expecting different results.” This is so true. So, could you take a few moments and list three changes that you will commit to this coming year? I’ll list a few of mine in order to spur your thoughts and insight:

  1. I will work out four days a week.
  2. I will slow down my decision-making process to make better team decisions.
  3. I will fast and pray more in an effort to become more Christlike.

I’ve found an interesting phenomenon that has tripped me up on several occasions, and it brings us back to the subject of trauma. Have you experienced trauma? Have you been healed and set free? Or has it stopped you from making new and healthier decisions?

I’m praying for you right now: “May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together—spirit, soul, and body—and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ. The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” (1 Thessalonians 5:23, MSG)

Trauma is real and can cause you to be stuck, but the healing power of Jesus is more real.

And don’t forget you are a miracle.
