Do you know your value(s)?

How hard is it for you to make decisions? Roy E. Disney said, “It’s not hard to make decisions once you know what your values are.”

Do you know what your values are? Are they something you’ve been taught, or something you’ve sought God for and asked Him to show you personally?

It’s worth taking the time to do so! The knowledge you receive will make every decision so much easier for you and keep you from making bad decisions. “I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands.” (Psalm 119:10, NIV)

Do you remember the story in Genesis of Pharaoh’s official’s very attractive wife hitting on Joseph? How hard it must’ve been for him to always stay strong and say NO to her repeated attempts. But he knew his worth and values, so he chose the right path. Yet he was accused of raping her, even though he was innocent, and ended up in prison. At this point, it might be easy for us to think, “Oh great…so was it really worth it to stay strong?”

Please remember God sees even the hidden things. It is He who not only plans your life…but also blesses it! That’s why Joseph was promoted again, even in that prison (see Genesis 39:22-23), until he finally became Pharaoh’s deputy. (see Genesis 41:41)

Had Joseph not kept to his values, he probably would’ve ended up in prison forever. But because he kept them, his sentence was not forever, and that situation eventually became his stepping stone to promotion. Even the biggest detour can become the biggest stepping stone of your life!

I have to ask again because it’s so important: “Do you know your values well enough to make the right decision, even when things get dicey, to then see how God will bless you when you do?”

That decision is yours to make…I encourage you to make it today!
