Today, your God comes to you with love.

Let that sink in. Yes, you can read this truth literally in Psalm 59:

“The God who loves me will help me; God will enable me to triumph over my enemies.” (Psalm 59:10, NET)

I know we often find it difficult to believe, especially because we humans often fail and immediately think God has changed His mind about us. But that’s not how your God is.

— Moses… Do you remember, for example, how Moses killed an Egyptian and yet God used him to lead Israel out of Egypt?

— David…He had a man killed to hide the fact that he had slept with his wife, yet God made him a king of Israel.

— Mary Magdalene…She was possessed by a demon, yet became an important disciple of Jesus after being set free.

And those are just a few examples I mention. I could easily include myself here because there have been times in my life that didn’t look very holy, times when no one would have believed I’d be doing what I’m allowed to do today.

But “My God loves me and will help me.” (from Psalm 59:10, NET)

Yes, He saw everything, forgave me, and today I live this new, God-saturated life! And you know what? God has seen everything in your life too, and yet He wants to forgive you! Yes, He also wants to give you a life drenched in Him!

The message today is clear: Your past, your yesterday, does not define who you are or who you can become! Yes, this new life that God wants to give you is received when you stop running away and instead run to Him, to your God, who comes to you today with love!

Don’t run away any longer. Stop, because God comes to you today with love!

You are a miracle!

Running away from God means we do things in our own strength. We lean on our own understanding instead of trusting God. When we don’t pray constantly it’s like saying we don’t need God, we can make it on our own and that’s wrong. We need God. We depend on Him.
