What is the key to happiness?

AMED 40.10

Home | A Miracle Every Day | Miracles | What is the key to happiness?

So many people seek the key to happiness, the “magic bullet” to having a happy future. Because of this, because they don’t find it, the rate of antidepressant consumption and suicide attempts has sadly never been higher.

The Bible declares, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalm 16:11, NKJV) And as we discussed yesterday, it also exhorts us, saying, “…Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

Today, my hope is that you realize that happiness is found in a person, a person named Jesus Christ. He is truly the way, the truth, and the life.

In His very first public teaching called “The Sermon on the Mount” or “The Beatitudes,” Jesus shared 9 principles for being blessed, or happy, as the word also means in the Greek. Yes, He used this word 9 times to begin the phrases of His first sermon! We’ll talk even more about this tomorrow. :-)

Jesus is the way to happiness, the truth you believe in, the life that fills you.

When the Lord fills you with Himself, you receive His strength, His love, and His clear-sightedness. No situation can stop you or prevent you from going forward because Jesus, the source of happiness, lives in you!

I invite you to pray with me…“Lord, I know the key to my happiness and my future is all wrapped up in You…it’s all about You! Thank You for filling and empowering me today so that I can keep moving forward in Your paths of life. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
