friend, do you know the power of your words?

Publication date May 13, 2020
Is there a mountain rising up against you, my friend? A mountain of difficulties, problems, broken relationships, sadness, loneliness, sickness…   Today, I invite you to move this mountain, according to Jesus’ words themselves! “‘For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.’” (the Bible, Mark 11:23, NKJV)   The first key to this miracle is declaration. I’m not talking about declaring your income to pay your taxes, which, alas, is necessary, but declaring to this mountain: “You will move; you will be removed and cast into the sea! Because I have faith in God...He will act.” Declare God’s mercies over your life as well!   The second key to this miracle is your faith: “whoever...does not doubt in his heart, but believes…” Don’t doubt...believe, friend! Your faith in God is the key that opens the door to the miraculous.   As one of my friends said, “Mountain, you’d better put on your tennis shoes and start running...because I don’t want to see you here anymore!”   Declaration is hugely powerful. The Bible says, “A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled.” (Proverbs 18:20)     So, proclaiming or declaring things, especially by repeating them regularly, encourages us to believe them more. It can be very useful to us...it can even be a game-changer, especially when we’re discouraged or riddled with negative thinking. As someone once said, preach to your soul! And when faith is there, the things you declare happen...they come to pass!  Don’t hesitate to encourage yourself, friend! It may well change your life. So today, say out loud to yourself with faith: “I have great worth. Jesus gave His life for me. I am precious. I am more than a conqueror through Christ! I am a child of God, and my heavenly Father is protecting me. I have nothing to fear because God is with me!” You can even sing God’s truths to your own soul! May your thought life be transformed as you sing the words of this timeless hymn, “It Is Well with My Soul,” sung by Natalie Grant.      As we conclude, I have some more good news for you...the One who is the Author of our faith is also the One who perfects it. (see Hebrews 12:2, AMP) friend, your faith is going to grow exponentially as you declare God’s Word, and your mountains are going to move!
