You have eternity ahead of you!

It was definitely one of the hardest days of my life. I stood in a cemetery, crowded with people, young and old.

Just a few days earlier, I had sung in a church and shared my life story. Afterwards, a beautiful young girl told me that she had just given her life to Jesus. That touched me deeply, especially because she could have said, "I'll do that later," thinking she had all the time in the world.

But she didn't have that time anymore. Within the same week she was already in eternity. Who would have thought! An accident and it's all over. And the question kept nagging at me: "What if she hadn't said 'Yes' to Jesus on that day?"

At the request of her father, I sang and told my story at the funeral. He wanted to give his daughter's classmates the same chance she had received. What an extraordinary and life-changing funeral! Many, many students gathered around the open grave and wanted prayers for themselves!

One of the girls said to me: "Oh, Déborah.... last year at an event I asked you for an autograph. But today you gave me something much more valuable! You gave me Jesus!" Tears of emotion streamed down my cheeks!

What faith this father had amidst his pain! Because of that, his daughter's death could become the rescue of many others.

Another question nagged at me: Does something bad always have to happen before we see the value of our faith? Why do we always wait for later to make a CLEAR decision?

Have you made a conscious decision for Jesus, friend? In John 1 it says:

"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12 ESV)

Have you welcomed Him into your heart?
