“A Season of Miracles”

Years ago, a young man showed up at our church with a shattered, broken hand. He had been waiting at the hospital for treatment but had been told it would be hours before he could be seen by a doctor—so, he came to church!
He asked me to pray over his hand, and I did, gently placing my hands over his. As I prayed, he suddenly shouted, “That’s hot!!!” I thought maybe I had pressed too hard on his injured limb, and quickly pulled away, only to hear him say, “My hand, you healed it!” His hand was completely whole! The broken bones were completely restored! But I quickly corrected him—“I didn’t heal you, Jesus did!” This young man was desperate for healing and relief and that is exactly where God met Him!
friend, in seasons of pain, drought, famine, and hopelessness, God moves in miraculous ways! After the brook dried up, God sent Elijah to a widow in Zarephath, a woman who was preparing to die with her son because they had nothing left. When Elijah asked her to make him bread, she expressed her hopelessness—there was only enough flour and oil for one last meal. But Elijah, confident in God’s provision, told her that her flour and oil would never run out as long as the drought lasted. Listen to his boldness and confidence:
“For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord gives rain on the land.’” (1 Kings 17:14 NIV) https://www.bible.com/bible/111/1ki.17.14
Elijah knew this was a season of miracles! God provided not only for Elijah but for the widow and her son as well. In a time when resources were scarce, God multiplied what little they had, and He can do the same for us!
This is the God we serve—the One who takes our little and makes it more than enough!
friend, think about the miracles in your own life. Perhaps they weren’t dramatic like the endless supply of flour and oil, but even small miracles speak to God’s faithful provision. In seasons of scarcity, He can surprise us with His abundance. When we trust Him, He often meets us in ways that leave us in awe and wonder.
Are you in a season where you’re unsure how God will provide? Maybe you feel you don’t have enough—whether it's time, resources, or energy. Today, decide to trust that God can multiply all that you have and that in doing so, He will show His power and provision!
Let’s pray together:
God, thank You for being the God of miracles. Help us to trust You in every season, even when things seem scarce. I believe that You can take my little and turn it into more than enough, so strengthen my faith to a place where I can be bold like Elijah. You are the same yesterday, today and forever so, I thank you as the God who keeps the “jars of my heart” overflowing with your power and provision. Amen.
Never forget my friend—you are a miracle!
