And Also...

Publication date Jun 15, 2023

Today I’d like to take you with me behind the scenes. I wrote this post you’re reading shortly before I was supposed to go on stage, and I think you may sometimes find yourself in a similar situation. What I call "the stage" could be—for you—your job, your family, or simply this moment in your calendar...and whatever is side-tracking you from what you ought to be concentrating on. Let me explain.

My mind was full of many thoughts just before I was to go on stage: I was supposed to be going over the flow of my evening performance. And also, a few people were urgently waiting for my email response. And also, I wanted to make a quick call to the insurance company. And also…

Instead, I was sitting backstage with my Bible open to ask God what He wanted of me. At that moment, my eyes fell on the following verse:

"...those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10 NKJV)

I was touched, because I had been distracted by many things. Besides everything else, I wanted to plan exactly how the upcoming performance should go, but I realized that the evening concert could only be a blessing if I didn’t overlook the main thing: to seek the Lord in everything I do and learn to trust Him.

Let the verse sink in again, friend: "...those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.” (Psalm 34:10 NKJV)

What important thing do you lack, friend?

I'm currently lacking a portion of good sleep right now; I'm lacking good ideas to plan the evening perfectly, and I'd be happy to get good feedback on the problems waiting for me at home.

But what does this verse say? What should we do so that we lack nothing good? Yes, friend: "Seek God and listen to what He wants." It sounds almost too simple to be true, but it is indeed the truth. Have you already planned this into your life or are you still stuck in the: "and also… “ phase?

Turn your “and also” into “I will listen to God and trust Him.” When you do this, you'll see your everyday life in a completely different light!

friend, it's worth it. I know that from experience. These days, I don't go on stage with a ready planned concept, but out of His nearness in the process of doing His will. I want to share this opportunity for nearness with God as I present my concerts. You can't plan that. You have to experience it in order to pass it on.

You are a miracle!
