And now it's your turn, friend
"The church and Christians don’t really do anything right anymore."Ah, do you have friends who talk about Christians like that, friend?
Because I love God so much, I often want to defend Him. But you know what’s more effective? Living as an example. Doing this is worth more than trying to explain things away.
What I mean is: You don’t have to defend how other Christians behave, focus on your life Christ came to save!
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1 NIV)
I love this verse! And especially the order here: “Arise!” It means: Give yourself a push. Despite your fears. Despite sadness. Despite illness. Despite thinking, “My life isn’t what I imagined.”
Despite your fears… or even because of them: You will become light, precisely because you know fear, illness, and the sadness that many others experience, but you trust God MORE than your own understanding!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV)
Yep, a verse we love to quote and admire. But do we only admire verses like this or are we ready to live by them? 🤔
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” (Isaiah 60:1 NIV)
Like I said, I love the order here! “Arise, shine” = do it despite everything—or even because of everything—and see with your own eyes how your light, Jesus, runs toward you and meets you along the way!
Jesus meets you while you’re walking, not while you’re standing still—KEEP MOVING and TRUST HIS WILL.
And wow, when your Jesus meets your decision to be light despite everything, there’s an explosion of faith! A faith that everyone around you will want to have!
So, I have just one thing left to say, friend: Get up today! Despite everything… or maybe even “because of everything.” Be the light! Because your light has also started moving to meet you along the way!
You are a miracle!
