Are you facing pressure at work, friend?

Publication date Mar 16, 2020
This week, we’re starting a series on “Being a Christian in Your Workplace.” No matter your occupation, it can be challenging to do your work while responding to your coworkers and employers as a true believer in Christ. The Lord wants to help you demonstrate His love in every situation and find success in what you do. I pray this series will be a blessing to you!    In the professional world, we can sometimes feel pressure. It may be related to submitting an urgent and crucial file to a boss, a shift happening in your team, a layoff, a job search that’s been unfruitful...Performance at any cost, mandatory success…   All of this pressure on your shoulders, friend, sends you just one message: you don’t have the right to make a mistake. You have to be strong and deliver. This is what our society tells you: “If you don’t succeed, you’re nothing. You’ve failed, and you’re worthless!”   But the Word of God tells us something different. It’s a liberating truth. Jesus says to you this morning, “‘My grace is sufficient for you, friend, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’” (according to 2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV)   In other words, you can and have the right to be weak, friend. It’s in that place that God can finally act and demonstrate His perfect strength! Yes, God can act and move in your professional life.   The Amplified version of this verse says, “‘[My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.’”    It’s exactly when you’re weak and can’t cope any longer with the situation that God can take the reins...finally! In fact, this is when His power shows itself most effective. God accomplishes what you cannot do by yourself.   Don’t be afraid of your weakness today, friend, but put it into the hands of the One who is strong and powerful. Believe in faith that God will rise up in strength for you!
