Are you searching for love, friend?

Publication date May 24, 2024

Yesterday, I told you about a man who approached me after a performance and said, "Déborah, do you remember me?" That moment reminded me of my past, when I was already making music, but with a different motivation. More on that today.

For many years, I was a young woman searching for love and validation. When these two components, love and validation, collide, it becomes dangerous, and mistakes are made.

Validation is sought by someone who doesn't yet know who they are. Do you know who you are, friend? The letter to the Galatians reveals it to you: "For you are all children of God." (Galatians 3:26 ESV

What does that mean then? Well, if your mother, for example, were the world-famous and influential Oprah Winfrey, who by the way is also one of the richest women in the world and extremely likable, then you would already know that you don't really have to worry when you wake up in the morning.

Now, your Father, in comparison, is so much more. Your Father is God! I was about to ask you, "Have you understood that?", but honestly, I don't think we can understand it!

If we understood that our Father is God, we would stop searching for love. Because "God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them." (1 John 4:16 ESV

If you understand that you wake up in the house of love every morning, you won't have to run anywhere to search for love, like I did back then, friend.

Because God is love, this love meets us where we are. Otherwise, it wouldn't say: "We love because he first loved us." (1 John 4:19 ESV

Are you still searching for love and validation, friend?

May I then suggest that today you simply dwell on this thought, that you are from God. (1 John 4:4 ESV). He is your beginning and your end, your eternity (Revelation 22:13 ESV). Therefore, you don't have to run anywhere to get love and validation because you can find them by embracing this truth.

I pray that you will recognize this truth today. And I believe that: "The truth will set you free!" (John 8:32 ESV)

You are a miracle!
