Are you surprised by the darkness?

Are you really surprised by the darkness we encounter in life from time to time, friend?

Darkness has ALWAYS existed on Earth. Even BEFORE the light. On the very first page and in the very first lines of the Bible, you’ll read: “...and darkness covered the deep waters...” (Genesis 1:2 NLT). And how powerful, because right after that it says: “...and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.” 

The Spirit of God was already there in the midst of this darkness!Even before God spoke the mighty words: “Let there be light” (Genesis 1:3 NLT).

Oh friend, God’s Spirit is already “there” in YOUR life—right now. Even before God delivers you from your currently challenging situation.

In your DARKNESS, trust the Spirit is true—He’s ever beside you, GUIDING YOU THROUGH!

And in the middle of this darkness, God challenges you: “Arise, shine…!” (Isaiah 60:1 ESV). We talked about this verse yesterday, and today I also want to share what comes next:

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. And the nations shall come to your light…” (Isaiah 60:1-3 ESV).

Oh, friend! I’m truly overwhelmed by this passage from Isaiah. Because here, too, we see how God works. I imagine Him saying to you:

“Dark clouds still cover the earth... just like your life, friend. But I know what I’m capable of. Just one word from me and it will be bright! The Holy Spirit is by your side in this darkness, preparing you for my intervention. That’s why I want you to trust my soon-coming action and stand up and shine now—speak out what I can do, even if you don’t yet see me in all the chaos. And as you do that, I will show myself through your life. Yes, people will see Me in you!”

Don’t wait for another time, because the Holy Spirit is with you—even in this darkness, He’s for you....So rise and shine, and get ready for a great miracle!
