friend, are you willing to put in the effort?

Are you willing to put in the effort? Today, co-writer Paul Marc Goulet wrote the message of "A Miracle Every Day". I pray his message and audio will bless you today. -- Should life, progress, happiness and blessings be free gifts to all of us, or will they require hard work? Every morning, I wake up quite early and grab a cup of coffee, a piece of toast and my Bible. I read for a few moments, listen to music and tune my thoughts towards God. It’s not easy at times, but I’ve found a habit that works for me.  friend, what works for you? How do you grow in your faith and hear from God? I’ve never had the luxury of seeing angels or hearing the audible voice of God. I believe most Christians are like me:
  1. We’re all seeking God, but it takes work, discipline and tons of faith.
  2. We’re all trying to hear God for direction, help and wisdom.
  3. We’re all trying to be obedient to this invisible God who may seem silent to us.
In my Bible this morning, I discovered this verse I had read a hundred times before: “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness…” (2 Peter 1:5-6, NIV)  The first few words rocked me: “make every effort to add...”  friend, I came to the conclusion that living the Christian life requires hard work, discipline and effort. The abundant life is not given to some and withheld from others. It’s not a question of luck or good fortune. True happiness is found in purpose, trials, sacrifice, the Holy Spirit and effort. Maybe this is why the Apostle Paul admonishes us to “Put on the full armor of God...” (Ephesians 6:11, NIV)   friend, I’m praying that God helps you fight the good fight and that you develop a strong spiritual work ethic. I’m praying the Holy Spirit fills you with divine power so you make every effort. Miracles aren’t a matter of superstition; they often require a lot of hard work. You’re a miracle.  Paul Marc Goulet -- Thank you, Paul Marc, for sharing this today!
