Because we all doubt...
“... if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? …But now the Lord has abandoned us...” (Judges 6:13 NIV)
Let's lay our cards on the table, friend; don't you think that from time to time? Don’t you doubt?
How can God allow so much suffering in the world and maybe even in your environment? Sometimes we forget we are not promised that everything will be easy, but rather, "I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 NLT)
So, if your situation is normal in God's eyes and going according to plan, is it possible that something is standing in the way of your dream... and maybe it's yourself? Your doubts? Did you just get discouraged after all, friend?
When God commissioned Gideon to save Israel, he saw all that he lacked for this, but God saw all that He had already put into him. “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!" (Judges 6:14 NLT)
Do you know this about yourself, friend? You see your dream and think to yourself, "But I'm way too young or too old for that. I don't have the money to fund it. I don't have the support."
You can doubt longer, or just prepare yourself.
For God's answer to Gideon, and to you as well, is, "The Lord answered, ‘I will be with you...“ (Judges 6:16 NIV)
friend, I’ve had many small dreams in my life, and looking back, I had to approach each dream with that very confidence, not seeing the solution ahead of time.
Whether it was the worship college I attended in Australia without a dime in my pocket, or even today, for every new song I record. Time and time again, I set out without having the money to do it. But it was and is my dream and every time, I trust in God's words, "I’ll help you." Then I experience the fact that He keeps His promise.
What doubts should you put down today and just go for it?
You are a miracle!
