Connecting with the Source of hope
When I'm working in my office and notice that my computer's battery is still half full, I think, "Ah, I don't have to plug it in yet—it still has enough battery life." Even though the power cord is right in front of my nose, I often ignore it. It's only later, when I'm on the road, that I feel annoyed that my battery is suddenly low because I'd neglected to charge it earlier.
Recently, a wonderful woman I coach told me, "I almost cancelled today because I'm doing so well that I figured I didn't really need a session. But just a few hours later, things changed, and I knew why I needed to talk with you today!"
And that's often exactly how it goes, friend. You don't know when the next challenging situation will come your way, but you know that it will come. However, this reality doesn't have to scare you—God wants to give you everything you need for this day!
If you intentionally spend time with God and seek to build your personal relationship with Him, you can be sure you will gain new hope! :-)
This connection to Him, the Giver of hope, is possible at any time, just like access to the power cord that recharges your computer. The question is…do you always wait until you run completely out of strength before seeking Him? Or do you allow yourself to come into His presence earlier to be recharged, renewed, and empowered?
As Jesus exhorts us, "'Be dressed and ready to serve. Keep your lamps burning.'" (Luke 12:35, NIRV)!
How is your connection with Him right now? Is it unstable? Is your battery low? It's a beautiful choice and responsibility we have, friend, to remain connected to Him. I'd like to encourage you today—thanks to God's great grace, even if you've been "offline" for a long time, know that "the connection can be restored"! (see Ephesians 2:4-5)
You are a miracle!
