Consider your options

Publication date Oct 11, 2021

I used to be well-paid to help people look at options for their lives. Most people wanted me to tell them what to do. Although that seems helpful, it rarely has good long-term effects. Each troubled soul would come to me for direction. I tried to help each one find the right path for him or herself instead. There is a saying: “Give a man a fish, and you’ll feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you’ll feed him for a lifetime.”

Our goal today is to help you look at your options. Then I’d encourage you to pray, evaluate the consequences, and choose the best path for you. Let’s face it: you’re the one that must live with the consequences. Right? “This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Give careful thought to your ways.’” (Haggai 1:7, NIV)

The Bible teaches us to find wisdom: “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers, they succeed.” (Proverbs 15:22, NIV) and “For lack of guidance a nation falls, but victory is won through many advisers.” (Proverbs 11:14, NIV)

friend, you can rewire your brain and watch your life change. Don’t forget that we’ve learned to:

  1. Reinterpret the events of our lives.
  2. Get rid of internal trash.
  3. Fill our minds with God, good thoughts, and His Word.

Get rid of your garbage and fill your brain with truth, love, and God. Surround yourself with good counsel. Look at your choices; pray; and choose the best option for you, your family, and your business. Then take action with the conviction and strength of the Lord. Twenty percent of your friends and coworkers may oppose you or disagree with you, but follow through with the Lord.

Joshua once took this resolute stand: “‘...But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.’” (Joshua 24:15, NIV) You can do it because you are an awesome miracle.
