With a powerful bang, my smartphone landed on the floor. I had just wanted to make myself comfortable on my small balcony on the third floor, but I had placed my phone in a very precarious place. The display was completely destroyed, and although I left no stone unturned to save my phone, there was nothing I could do.
I honestly didn't care that much about my phone, but I wanted to save the pictures I had stored on it. I had pictures from the relationship with my ex, but he had just replaced me with someone else on short notice despite our plans to get married soon. Since the breakup, I had spent hours, days, even weeks looking at our pictures together and crying my eyes out.
From today's perspective, I was stuck in my pain because I kept focusing on what was hurting me the most.
The frustration was enormous at that moment, but looking back, I can say that it was THE BEST thing that could have happened to me! I now had no way to constantly revisit the past. Now I could only see the present and trust in what would come. And I needed to believe. Yes, believing is a decision in such moments, but it is a decision that is rewarded. I can tell you that today from my own experience! God keeps His word, and His word states:
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." (Psalm 147:3 NIV)
friend, maybe there are pictures in your smartphone that you need to delete. Maybe there are thoughts you should banish from your mind once and for all. You will know what it is. You alone can decide if you want them in your life any longer.
Don't dwell on the past. There is a new, a wonderful time ahead of you!
You are a miracle!
