Do you know why you are incredible?

Millions of people in the world struggle with poor self-esteem. They don’t know who they are or what they are called to do. I believe the main reason for these significant struggles is ignorance. They simply don’t know their value because they don’t understand the value of their Maker. The Bible says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalms 139:13-14, NIV)

friend, do you know that God made you in your mother’s womb? You are not an accident—the God of the universe was part of your creation.

A few years ago, I dreamed of buying my wife an SUV. So I prayed and shopped for used vehicles, and I prayed and shopped some more. I wanted to surprise her with a vehicle that was built by a renowned maker. I finally found one with a reasonable price tag and gave it to my bride. She was thrilled. Then one day, she threw the keys at me and asked me to fix a problem with her SUV: it smelled terrible. Wow! She was so right—it stunk terribly. I cleaned the carpets and tried to solve the problem, but I couldn’t get rid of the foul odor until I removed the seats. I discovered rotten milk in the crevices of the seat and carpet. Our grandchildren had graciously made a donation of milk or vomit that could not be seen without a massive removal process.

This perfectly illustrates the problem with many Christians: we are made by the greatest Maker, but we have garbage in the hidden places of our souls. Why don’t you ask your Creator to clean the dark or forgotten areas of your life? David’s prayer seems to fit right now: “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” (Psalms 51:10, NIV)

friend, you are created by the best, but it’s time to let Him clean you to the core because you are a miracle.
