“Do you still have that image in your mind?”

The image from the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in France last year, the one that went around the world? The one where the Last Supper was imitated in a degrading and disappointing way?

I want to share a Bible verse with you now, because you’ll quickly understand what happened during that time—and what’s happening right now:

"But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires." (Jude 1:18 NLT)  

You’re probably thinking, “That’s right!” No matter where you look these days, that’s exactly what you see in the world, isn’t it?

It’s okay to feel sad about this, friend, because it makes God, who loves people so much, very sad as well.😢 But it’s important not to get scared or retreat. Don’t forget:

God wanted you to live in THIS TIME, so you have a PURPOSE in THIS TIME!

"But you, dear friends, (and you, friend!), must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. And you must show mercy to those whose faith is wavering (this is your purpose, friend!). Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others, but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives." (Jude 1:20-23 NLT) 

friend, in these verses, everything we need to hear is written. Do you want to pray with me and live out your purpose “in this time”?

"Jesus, this time is crazy. And I’m caught between fear and purpose. On one hand, I want to hide and avoid it all, but on the other, I recognize that You have placed me in this time for a reason. Give me the strength and love to endure. Let me become a blessing in this time! Amen."
