“Do You Think You’ll Be There?”

Publication date Feb 15, 2025

What’s the first thought that comes to your mind when you hear, “Jesus is coming back,” friend?

I can tell you that for years, this thought filled me with great fear! When I was a child, I watched a movie about Jesus’ return—there was a mother and child standing in the kitchen, and suddenly the mother was gone, leaving the child standing there crying. To me, it was clear: “That kid must have done too many bad things. Déborah, you won’t make it to heaven either.”

It just goes to show how powerful childhood impressions can be. Maybe you were shaped the same way, thinking, “I’ll never get to heaven because I’m not good enough.” If that’s the case, I want to urgently clear this up today!

Yes, Jesus is coming back! That’s true! The Bible says: “For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.”(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NLT

The thought that this will happen is so incredible, friend: It’s hard to do, but try to grasp the unimaginable because it will happen just like that! 🤯

Just like we never could have imagined the sudden arrival of the coronavirus, I imagine it will be the same when Jesus returns—suddenly!

And here’s the thing: it shouldn’t make you feel fear, but joy! The verse I just shared with you continues: “So encourage each other with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:18 NLT). Not, “Be afraid,” but “Have hope!”

“For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out His anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when He returns, we can live with Him forever.” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 NLT)

It’s true: “You’re not good enough!” But: “Jesus’ blood is enough!”

Why not take a moment now to thank Him for His life-saving blood? Declare: “I, friend, will see Jesus, because He gave everything for me!”

Amen!

You are a miracle!
