Don't get distracted now
Are you good at spending time alone, friend?I actually enjoy it a lot. And yet, we know: “Being alone can also be dangerous.”
Because you’re not being observed. Or rather, you feel like you’re not being observed. Our good God always has us in His sight and sees us all the time.
“Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.” (Psalm 139:1-4 NIV)
Maybe you also work alone, like in a home office. You know exactly that you have tasks to complete. If you don’t get your job done, the boss may wonder what you have been doing.
Whether you do something meaningful today while you’re alone or not, it always has an impact on tomorrow.
I recently realized this when I was alone in a restaurant. Since I had my headphones with me, I thought: “You could just watch a movie while you eat,” but I decided against it.
friend, we’re not used to spending time with our thoughts, are we? Let alone, saying nothing so we can hear God. Because that’s how it was. Through what my heart could feel in that moment, since it wasn’t being distracted by something else, like the words I could overhear from neighboring tables, God placed a new message on my heart that I’m sure will help people.
It was simple at that moment. Being alone doesn’t mean being unnecessary. Being alone can free you for new ideas. Free you from the noise of the unnecessary.
friend, in that moment I actually chose the more meaningful option and was able to receive what God wanted to give me that day, so I could pass it on the next day to help others.
friend, don’t get distracted, because God wants to give you TODAY what will help you and others TOMORROW!
You are a miracle!
