Don’t Turn Back Now

Have you ever made plans, wanted to start with joy, and immediately something happens that tries to steal all your joy?

friend, can I tell you something that you should really remember? THIS IS NORMAL. You should actually be worried if everything is running smoothly. Honestly.

The greatest example I can give you today is Jesus Himself. Imagine Him being in heaven, seeing the suffering on earth. How He said to His Father, “Let me help the people. Let me go to them so they can understand that You exist! I just want to love them!” That was Jesus’s plan—to do good.

But He got started and: “...was despised and rejected by all, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief...we turned our backs on him, and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.” (Isaiah 53:3 NLT) 

friend, it doesn’t get any worse than that. Don’t you think Jesus could have just turned back? He could have prayed, “Father, I’ve had enough. I’m coming back. My plan didn’t work.”

Recently, while I was walking, it started raining, and I saw other walkers turning back: No point walking in this weather. But I decided to keep going. And at that moment, God put these words on my heart—for you:

“Do not fear the headwind. Do not fear the rain. For it will prepare the ground for what I have planned with you and through you. By KEEPING GOING, you will experience MY INDESCRIBABLE BLESSING IN THIS RAIN.”

friend, today, I want to encourage you to KEEP GOING despite everything! Jesus kept going and was able to give you eternal life! I kept going during my walk, and God placed an incredibly valuable thought on my heart in that rain. And who knows how God will bless you as you keep going?
