Everything is Allowed for you
Listen to the following verse, friend:
“You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.” (Psalm 8:6-8 NIV)
Translated into today’s language, this verse could go on like this:
You made humans rulers over the works of Your hands; You put everything under their feet:
° The stressful schedule is full of appointments, some of which are unnecessary.
° The shopping cart on Amazon is already too full again.
° The “No” needs to be said to protect oneself.
° Oh, and You even put social media under their feet! So that these many videos and pieces of information don’t trample on humans, but they can manage this consumption themselves.”
“You put everything under their feet.”
Oh, how good it is to think about this, friend. Because how often do we let things trample on us that God has placed UNDER OUR FEET.
When someone says, “I am at your feet,” it means, “You can do whatever you want with me because you have power over me.” And God reminds you that your stressful schedule, overfilled shopping cart, and even your use of your phone are under your feet. You have the power over them, not the other way around. You are not as weak as you think, because God gives you His strength!
“But, I want all of this somehow too… I just like hanging out on social media, shopping online, and spending time with friends even if it gets too much,” you might think now. Yes, and that’s why God gives you this wise advice:
“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything. (1 Corinthians 6:12 NIV)
friend, examine today through Heaven’s eyes where you have lost control over what God has given you control over. And then, set new boundaries.
Let’s not waste any time; today we need to set new boundaries!
You are a miracle!
